My Activity

I started realizing web pages when I was at high school, to explore a new world and surf the net as an active user, not only as a simple visitor.
In may 2004 I knew the blogosphere: in that period was born "Chridhe Gaidhlig - Gaelic Heart"'s blog.
Soon, I started expanding it, opening "Chridhe Gaidhlig - Gaelic Heart"'s first pages and continuing to increase them.
From 2006 my WebMistress activity expanded outside my personal website, starting with my village official website, which was born from my love for my homeland: this website was the beginning of the realization of other websites.

My style

My distinctive features are clarity, simplicity, functionality. My pages have rarely unnecessary things, but I prefer to concentrate on functionality and content comprehension. I focus my attention primarly on contents, guiding the visitor focus on main points by the use of simple graphical strategies. I think that the correct use of colour is fundamental: it must emphasize but not weigh down contents.

My favourite applications

To realize basic templates for my websites I often work using Note Pad, directly managing Html code and Css stylesheets: I like to have a complete and deep control of my pages.
To create buttons or menus I use a photo-retouch program to work on images or Xara Webstyle.
To realize photogalleries my favourite software is JAlbum.
A colour table can be very useful: online you can find a lot of them searching the web using Google, but I use a little software which don't need installation and has a lot of little interesting functions. It's name is Webmastertools, developped by Paul Barrs.
Another important thing is testing links, but it's often a long work: I use Xenu, who automatically tests links in a page or a group of pages or a whole website and finds broken links.
To upload pages online by Ftp, I think FileZilla is the best.
